Welcome to the newest web edition of the Eyecandy Film Journal. In this edition, we contribute to the growing discussions concerning new technologies, media consumption, and modern spectatorship. Our primary goal for this year is relevance. We are tackling the most important issues that face our current generation and its relationship to the screen. The scope for this web edition, as with the Volume 18 print edition, looks forward and maps current developments in visual medias, while hypothesizing future media usage. This online edition fittingly charts new territory for Eyecandy: the development of a web and print publication that work off of the same theme in tandem. A healthy mix of film reviews, scholarly essays, and, for the fist time, an incorporation of streaming video have manifested into the very best Eyecandy web launch ever. As co-editors, we could not be more proud to present to you the 2008 Eyecandy Film Journal web edition.
